Basic Navigation

• Zoom: Use mouse wheel or +/- buttons in top-left corner
• Pan: Click and drag the map to move around
• Home Button (⌂): Click to return to full study area extent
• Menu Toggle (☰): Show/hide the control sidebar

Base Layers

Switch between different background maps:

• OpenStreetMap: Standard street map view
• Satellite Imagery: High-resolution aerial imagery

LULC Layers

• Select Year: Choose from 1985 to 2024 to view land cover for that year
• Opacity Slider: Adjust transparency to see base map underneath
• Legend: Bottom-left shows color codes for land cover classes

Compare Years

Analyze changes between two different years:

• Select Years: Pick left/right years to compare
• Swiper Mode: Drag the vertical divider left/right to reveal each year
• Side by Side: View both years simultaneously in split screen
• Switch Types: Toggle between Swiper and Side by Side while comparing
• Clear Comparison: Return to single year view

Chart Display

• Toggle On/Off: Show/hide the floating statistics panel
• Chart Types: Switch between Bar, Line, Pie, and Table views
• Drag Panel: Click and drag the panel header to reposition
• Minimize: Collapse panel to just the header
• Auto-Updates: Chart shows data for currently selected year(s)

Timeline Analysis

• Toggle On/Off: Display panel showing all years (1985-2024)
• Line Chart: View trends for each land cover class over time
• Bar Chart: See stacked area distribution per year
• Compare Years: Select two years to compare with change calculations (km² & %)
• Full Table: View complete dataset with years as rows and land cover classes as columns
• Draggable: Click and drag panel header to reposition anywhere on screen
• Minimize: Collapse panel while keeping it active

Tips

• Both chart and timeline panels can be displayed simultaneously
• Use Side by Side comparison to analyze different regions separately
• The swiper divider works great for precise pixel-by-pixel comparison
• Compare Years table shows absolute and percentage changes between selected years
• Full Table view provides a complete overview of all data points
• Timeline panel helps identify long-term trends and patterns
• All panels are mobile-friendly with touch support
